Ice Cream Celebration! Summer Reading Challenge

Saturday, 8/27 in the Library Courtyard (weather permitting) Drop-in anytime from 2:00 – 4:00 PM Thanks to our excellent community readers, we’ve earned a celebratory end of summer ice cream party! We’re only half way through summer and already Pawling has collectively read over 50,000 minutes (as of 8/1/22). To celebrate, readers of all ages are invited to join us for ice cream sandwiches, popsicles, and fun and games in the courtyard. Drop in with your friends or family on August 27th, anytime from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, no registration required. We’ll have yard games like lawn bowling and provide access to our outdoor play materials, including our water play tables and giant lawn blocks. This event is intended for patrons who have participated in our Summer Reading Challenge, but all are welcome to join us and celebrate their hard work! Ages: Families with youth grades Kindergarten – 8th grade. Children ten and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Monday, 6/20, 3:30 – 4:15 PM ; join us on your day off school! In partnership with Pawling Recreation. Join as Magician Jim Vagias wows families with his tricks, humor, and puppeteering. Tuesday, November 16th – 4:00 PM – Zoom All ages welcome. Program is free, made possible by a partnership with Ballet Hispánico and the Mid-Hudson Library System. The Pawling Library is thrilled to announce a virtual performance by Ballet Hispánico, one of New York City’s most esteemed dance organizations. The live, virtual event will take audiences on a guided journey through Latinx dance and culture. This interactive, fun-filled exploration features excerpts of the Ballet Hispánico repertoire dance performances narrated by our artistic leadership. Audiences will also be given the opportunity to interact with our teaching artists and educators through a virtual dance session and a Q&A.
