The Pawling Library's Battle of the Books team for middle school students will meet on alternate Mondays to discuss the books and practice trivia questions for this year's competition. The Battle of the Books is a Mid-Hudson Library System-wide program for middle and high school students that celebrates books and reading, team work, and friendly-competition. Baby Bounce and Groove Tuesdays, 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM Nine week event series, 01/09 - 03/09 Age range: birth -18 months & a caregiver  Library Annex, with Neena Join us for stories and songs. We’ll focus on the keys for early literacy—singing, reading, talking, playing, and engaging with caregivers. This program ends with 10 - 15 minutes of play time. Registration is highly suggested. You can register in advance or the day of! Join us for as many or as few classes as you are able, but please ONLY register for the dates you will attend.         This is a year-round volunteer opportunity for ages 11 & up. The group will meet twice a month to plan or work on service projects to benefit the Library and the Pawling community. Meeting dates: The first and third Wednesday of each month at 5 pm to 6:30 pm. There may be additional dates depending on the project. Family Hour: Play Doh Club

Family Hour: Playdoh Club Alternating Thursdays (01/11, 01/25, 02/08, 02/22, & 03/07) 2:00 - 3:00 PM Age range: Ages 1.5-5 years and a caregiver Welcome to family hour! During this hour long program, we will read a story and sing 1-2 songs. Then, join in for themed play-doh play with tools like cookie cutters, toddler scissors, and rolling pins. Play-doh is awesome for developing early skills kids need for school, like fine motor skills and finger strength.  Registration is highly suggested. Join Bedtime Math's Crazy 8s, a totally new kind of math club where you'll build stuff, race across a map, make amazing mazes and more! You'll have a blast with mischief-making activities like Ninjas on the Run, Cowabunga and Super-Cube Shuffle®. This program is for students in grades K - 2. (Mar.7) Firefighter Training: Discover how firefighters do speedy math to figure out how much water they'll need to put out a blaze. You'll also learn what the color of a fire hydrant really means.
