Stop by the Library throughout September to get a Library card and new card applicants will be entered into a raffle to win a basket of books! There are baskets for adults, teens, big kids and little kids because everyone can get a library card with proof of address. With your card, you can borrow books, movies, video games, audio books, museum passes and more!

The Pawling Library’s Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Challenge begins on Monday, June 20th! Register online and count the time you spend reading all summer! We are looking for a volunteers to dress as Piggie & Gerald, or to be their guide for a special program on June 11th, beginning at 10 am. Dressed as the beloved Mo Willems characters, you will encourage the children with questions and help with the planned activity. 05/20/2022, 5:30 PM Preteens & teens are invited to test their castle building and defense skills at this Nerf battle. We’ll build castles out of boxes to defend our “kings” from attack by the other kingdom. First kingdom to capture the opponent’s king is declared the winner. 04/22/2022; 4:00 PM Pre-teens and teens are invited to get their hands dirty as we rebuild the Library’s raised beds and container gardens. This project will involve clearing out the old soil and plants, relocating them and preparing them for a new garden. The Library will supply the tools. Participants should bring their own gloves and wear clothes that can get dirty. Earn community service hours for this project. Thursdays 10:00-10:45 AM – Library Annex , 9 week program series
Interactive story time featuring puppets, instruments, and elements of music & movement. Program ends with play. This program will be indoors for the winter season.
Thursdays, 11:00 AM-12:00 PM – Library Annex, Miss Neena
This nine week program includes songs, stories, and games plus a play-based learning stations, like art, blocks, or fine motor play. While activities vary week to week, messy materials are occasionally used and smocks will be available.
Young scientists will be given a chance to try fun and wacky experiments each week—and learn scientific procedure in the process. Weekly themes include Sink or Float; Rainbow Magic; Snow Day; For the Birds; and more.
Meets on the 1st Thursday of the month 6:30-7:30 pm

This program is open to all who are concerned about preventing prediabetes. Each month, at these supportive meetings, we’ll be encouraging one another to maintain a nutritious, balanced diet, get plenty of exercise, and keep a positive attitude…especially when we stray from our intended goals.
Some of the members of this group have completed a year-long National Diabetes Prevention Program through a partnership with Putnam Independent Living Services and the Pawling Library.
