Human Library Project – Sign up to read human books

Back by popular demand, the Pawling Human Library Project is a joint venture between the Pawling School District and the Pawling Library. It is an opportunity for members of the community to connect with educators and each other to share their stories. This year’s event will take place on Tuesday February 19th, 12-3 PM.

Now, you can sign up to attend the event and “read” up to six human “books!” Human “books” will each lead 20 minute long discussions about their chosen topic. Follow the link below and fill out the form to register to attend the event.

    Program cycle runs 9 weeks.

    Join us for stories, songs, and block play with the library’s varied collection of blocks and other engineering materials, like vehicles and signs. This program begins with stories and songs and ends with 30-45 minutes of shared building play time.

    Coloring Group: Adult Art Workshop

    NOTE: This in-person program will take place each Wednesday from 1-2 pm at Pawling Recreation.

     

    Coloring is more than being creative, it’s a very relaxing activity that has been proven to reduce stress and anxiety.

    Each week we’ll be coloring a new mandala design, while also enjoying a good round of conversation.

    You don’t have to have a degree in art to participate…just some paper and color pencils.

    Please join us. Relax and connect with like-minded people, and add a burst of color to your day!

    All supplies will be provided.

    Do you want to know what to do when you feel stressed? In this workshop, you will learn different strategies to manage stress and could find out about a special place in Pawling to support your well-being.

    Liz Conti: Liz Conti, LMSW is the Outreach Director and Social Worker at Northeast Dutchess Immigrant Services. She offers services such as emergency financial relief, food assistance, Beginner and Advanced English classes, and assistance with immigration & status changes.

    Gabrielle Semel: As Founder of Pawling Yoga & Wellness, Gabrielle is committed to sharing the wisdom of the healing sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda. Her primary intention in her work is to connect with each individual, to hold the space for healing, and offer guidance that honors and embraces where one is on his/her own path. The innate healing wisdom of the elements resides within; Gabrielle’s gift is offering means to access this wisdom.

    Inspired by her students, and with a commitment to learning and devotion to service, Gabrielle continues to dive deeper in search of a broader understanding of the healing process. Gabrielle’s training began with Amy Pearce-Hayden for 200-Hour Teacher Training certification at The RajaHatha School of Yoga in 2006, and four years later traveled the path of the 500-Hour Teacher Training with certification in 2011. She has studied the power of breath with Leslie Kaminoff at The Breathing Project in New York City, and currently has the privilege of studying Ayurvedic Medicine with Dr. Somesh Kaushik at his Ayurvedic and Naturopathic Clinic in Cross River, NY.

    Camino al Éxito provides a variety of supportive services to families in need in the community for its successful integration and development.

    Camino al Éxito’s core mission is to provide English as a Second Language adult education, GED programs, mentoring for teens, after school tutoring, college readiness guidance, citizenship application assistance, empowerment seminars and community engagement workshops including parent education and early childhood programs.
