Our wellness as individuals and as a community depends on continued sharing, support and conversation in times of celebration as well as in times of conflict. Poetry Workshop: The short poetic form in the last 100 years / Online Program

We will define several of the shorter forms, including haiku, haibun, tanka, acrostic, cinquain and villanelle. During the writing segment, we will choose one, and create a poem. Assignments may be completed at home and brought to our next workshop. About our presenter: Marian Grudko is the author of Lucinda Snowdrop and co-author of Claudine: A Fairy Tale for Exceptional Grownups, with T.A. Young. She is also a composer and storyteller, and her work can be seen on her new and evolving YouTube channel.

Each was the central figure in a dramatic series of events; each became enshrined in local lore for their actions; each has had his/her story obscured; and each may have left behind a spiritual residue. Summer programs have come to a close, so join us for our end of summer celebration! Wizard of Oz Family Block Party: Saturday, August 28th, 12:30 – 3:00 PM Lakeside Park: 2 Lakeside Drive Pawling, New York 12564 Join us under the Lakeside pavilion for a free event featuring bouncy castle, rainbow water play area, dunk tank, crafts, lawn games, snacks, and a prize raffle for major prizes like local gift cards, toys, and a Kindle Fire. There will be a Wizard of Oz themed costume contest, which all ages are welcome to join!  No registration is required, so stop by and play with us, even if only for a little while! The poses are held longer than hatha yoga (1 minute to 3-4 minutes) and mostly performed close to the floor. There are few standing postures. This form of yoga is known for calming and balancing the mind, body and internal organs, increasing circulation, and improving flexibility and joint mobility. Yin Restorative Yoga encourages the use of props. For class make sure you have a strap (belt or scarf will do), yoga block (or book), eye pillow, and pillows, rolled up towels etc. for various areas of support.
