Join us for an Easy Hike!
Sunday, May 18th at 11 am @ Native Landscapes on Rt. 22
We’ll be hiking up to Corbin Hill to celebrate the Installation of our Little Free Library and the introduction of our Appalachian Trail Backpacks.
The Hike will be led by Harlem Valley AT Ambassador, Cassie Kessman, who will teach us about native plants, wild edibles, invasive species, & the AT.
The Hike will be approximately two hours roundtrip.
The new backpacks, filled with maps, guides, and
binoculars, can be borrowed by anyone with a library card, and they’re available at the Dover and Pawling Libraries. Thanks to the Harlem Valley Appalachian Trail Community for providing books and backpacks.
We hope that the LFL and the Backpacks will promote use of the AT by people near and far, who can come to enjoy the Trail as an invaluable resource, and that hikers doing bigger pieces of the Trail can make use of the reading material in the LFL.
Be sure to visit the shops and AT Communities of
Pawling & Dover, that work to preserve and promote the trail as a local and national asset
and an international icon!
