Julian won first prize in the Children’s Division


Children’s Division: 

First Prize and The Award for Winning by the Biggest Margin: Julian, Grade 5

Second Prize and The Award for Best Candidate Platform in the Children’s Division: Fox, Grade 3





First prize in the Teen Division went to Joslyn

Teen Division:

First Prize and The Award for Best Slogan in the Teen Division: Joslyn, Grade 9

Second Prize: Kennedy, Grade 7

Runner Ups:

Marie, Grade 11, with The Award for Best Platform in the Teen Division

Anthony, Grade 6, with The Award for Funniest Entry in the Teen Division







Nominated characters will go head to head in elections starting the week of October 23rd.
Two winners will be decided for for the top Prizes of a Kindle Fire for each division
Children’s division (ages 5-10) | Teen division (ages 11-18).

Runner-up winners will receive honorable mentions and books!

Contest Rules and Information:

Youth in grades K-12 who reside in the Pawling/Holmes, NY area are eligible to win prizes. Students must fill out a nomination form, either on paper or virtually by October 23, 2020 to be entered into the contest. The participating student’s first name, grade, and entry will be published on the library website and may be featured on our social media pages. No other personal information will be shared. Students under 18 years old must have primary guardian permission to participate. Students are allowed help with editing and spelling, but we ask that the ideas come entirely from the participant. Entries may be edited for clarity, length, or content before being posted online, in accordance with the library’s social media policy. Winners will be chosen by online popular vote, open to the community. Ballots will be distributed to all participants as well as posted virtually for the community. Votes will be accepted between October 26 – November 2, 2020. Winners will be announced on November 3, 2020.
