Summer Reading Challenge Information

Our Summer Reading Challenge is now underway!

Readers of any age are invited to join in and help our community unlock awesome prizes.

As of August 7, 2019, participants have collectively read: 6,628 minutes.
We’ve only got until the end of August to reach 10,000 minutes read. We need your help to meet our last goal–the achievement celebration!

If we can collectively read….
  • 1,000 minutes: Every participant family will receive ticket vouchers to a local Minor League baseball game, either the Danbury Westerners or the Hudson Valley Renegades.
  • 5,000 minutes: The library will add an Ozobot to our collection. This small robot teaches fun coding activities for any age level, and will be available for check out, just like a book! All participants’ names will go on the Ozobot’s plaque, showing they helped the library receive this new resource.

An Ozobot used by students to practice coding and learn about robotics.

  • 10,000 minutes: All participants will be invited to an exclusive after hours achievement celebration! Treats, achievement awards, and exclusive use of the library’s computers art and STEM resources will be available for participants and their guests.

Participants can track with paper trackers, available at our front desk, or online at ReadSquared, our online platform, is designed to encourage a love of reading, and allows participants to unlock cool features like badges, games, and reading lists the longer they read.
