Scroll to explore our full slate of weekly program series for children ages 5 - 10 years old and their families. These programs are for kids entering grades Kindergarten - 5th grade in fall 2025. Advanced registration is required or preferred for most programming.
Clubs and Classes
Graphic Novel Book Club for K – 2
Wednesdays, 4:00 PM - 4:45 PM
January 14 – March 11
Ages: Grades K-2
Each week, we will read a short, early reader (ER) graphic novel together and do a related activity based on the story!
Books may include:

Minecraft Explorer
(January 23, February 6, February 20,

Girls Who Code Jr.

Winter session runs January 13 - March 16
(No meeting on 1/27)
Ages: Grades 3-5
This winter session of our Girls Who Code Club will follow the Girls Who Code Book Club plans, featuring the book, The Friendship Code. Participants will receive a copy of the book to keep. Each meeting will focus on two chapters of the book and coding activities based on the story. Participants are asked toread the chapters prior to the meeting.

Homeschool Space: Elementary
Third Thursdays of each month (01/15, 02/19, & 03/19)

Library Annex
Ages: Grades K- 4 or roughly 5 - 9 years old
Each month, we invite homeschooling families from across the region to join us for an hour of community and learning through play. The theme and activities for each session vary, but with a focus on collaboration, exploration, and kindness. While kids enjoy a project, story, or science experiment, caregivers are invited to gather in the main library to chat together. Registration is monthly, so join us for as many or as few of the activities as interest your family.
January: Hydrophilic Salt We will be exploring the question "Why do we use salt on icy roads?" the science of hydrophilic substances, and creating salt art.
February: Temperature Science We will be exploring temperature with hands on experiments and practicing reading a thermometer.
March: Ultra-violet light Science We will be exploring the question "What is ultraviolet light?" and experiment with kid-safe UV printmaking on Starlight paper.
Special Events
indiBot Free Play Days
Looking for something to do out of the house during the school break? Drop in the library for free exploration with one of the library's indiBots. These robots are designed to teach the basics of robotics and coding, no reading required. Three robots will be available for use in the library throughout our hours of operation on these days, first come first served. Ask at the desk to participate.
Magic Show with Magic Jim
Tuesday, January 6

Ages: Families with kids ages 5+ a caregiver
Super magician Magic Jim is back in the library with a new show, ideal for kids and families. Bring the whole family for an interactive show themed around respect and caring. Magic Jim tours around the Tri-state area performing for schools, libraries, and businesses. Learn more about him at https://educationalproductions.com/
Registration required. Please register for each child attending the program. Sibilings welcome. Caregivers welcome to stay at the show or hang out in the main library, but must stay on library grounds for the duration of the program.
Slime Workshops at Stone Soup
6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Join Miss Neena for Slime making workshops at the Pawling School District's Annual Stone Soup event. This year, we're making crunchy dragon scale slime.

Penguin Pandemonium:
Take your Child to the Library Day!

Featuring Penguin storytimes at 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM
We're celebrating Take your Child to the Library Day with penguin themed activities and bubbles, bubbles, everywhere! Stop by our open house to enjoy snacks, games, crafts, and stories anytime throughout the day. Plus, if you borrow or read a book while visiting, you can enter the Reader's Raffle for our awesome penguin themed raffle prize for free.
No registration required, just drop in. Want a reminder a few days before the event? Sign up for email or text message reminder.
Plus, we're hosting a Make-Your-Own Mr. Penguin Stuffy workshop on this day. If you love penguins or stuffies, now's your chance to make your own! Registration for the Make-Your-Own stuffy event is separate.
Make-Your-Own Stuffy Penguin Workshop
11:30 AM - 12:15 PM
All ages and a caregiver, children under 5 will need assistance.
Penguin storytime for all ages at 11:00 AM, followed by stuffy making at 11:30 AM.
We're celebrating Take your Child to the Library Day with penguin themed activities, including a stuffy making class. These penguin stuffed animals look just like fan-favorite Mr. Penguin from Miss Neena's storytime programs and are sure to be as big of a hit at home as they are in the library.
During the program., kids and caregivers will help a penguin stuffy get ready to join their family, adding polyfil and love. Wish on a magic wish star and make a beautiful necklace for your new friend. Plus, if you stop by at 11:00, you'll also hear a penguin story read aloud.
This event is part of our Take Your Child to the Library Day celebration and other family-friendly activities will be going on in the library from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
Registration for this Make-Your-Own stuffy event is limited and separate from registration from the general Take Your Child to the Library Day event. Please register each child participating separately, so we make sure we have enough supplies for each child.
Dragon Ventures
Friday, March 27
5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Main Library
Ages: Grades K - 4, caregivers welcome but not required
Calling all dragon lovers! At this special evening event, kids and families are invited to enjoy a variety of dragon themed play. We're making dragon resist art, solving the mystery of the missing dragon eggs, and playing dragon tag in the library after close. Mess is possible, so we suggest wearing clothes that can get dirty.
