    Does your baby love to bounce and play? Join Ms. Neena, on Fridays this summer, for a story, singing, and rhyming sure to get baby giggling. All activities are designed to enhance attention and focus, familiarize children with the fundamentals of reading and talking, and instill a love of reading. The program ends with a 10-15 minute social play session or baby-safe art activity.

    On Friday mornings, kids rule the library! Join Ms. Neena, while the library is still closed, for an uninhibited, fun and loud story time. This program incorporates sensory, art, storytelling, music, and movement all in one to prepare children to read, write, and think critically. Topics vary by week, and the program ends with activity stations. Parents and caregivers required to remain in the library for the duration of the program.

    Young babies benefit from story time, singing, bouncing and dancing, and socialization. This is our regularly scheduled nine week program for our youngest patrons. To improve and encourage the acquisition of language and a love for reading, we’ll sing, bounce, play, and laugh. Each session ends with 10-15 minutes of social play.

    Rookie Readers is a one-to-one literacy builder designed for students who are proficient, independent readers entering grades 3 - 5. It pairs each reader with a child listener, ages 4-6.

     

    Readers are responsible for reading to their partner and talking about great stories! The program is meant to increase student fluency, reading with expression, and reading confidence.

     

    They also provide great role models for our young listeners, whose literacy skills are boosted too! These partnerships increase prereaders' interest in reading and encourage positive communication and comprehension.

     

    Slots may be limited by the number of partners interested in participating in the program.
