These are troubling times. Many people are experiencing bouts of depression due to isolation, along with worry and fear of contracting Covid-19. The Pawling Library is holding an online Q & A panel discussion addressing these concerns, to and from the Holmes community and to anyone in need of support. Three very gifted and caring people from Holmes will be offering their professional advice in response to the pandemic, addressing both physical and emotional well-being.

Please join us for this supportive interactive gathering.

Guest panelists:

Dr. Nancy Iankowitz, DNP, RN, APRN, FNP-BC, Director of Holistic and Integrative Healing LLC, is a certified family nurse practitioner by trade, mother by choice, and writer by nature. Her books facilitate healing through storytelling, so adults and children of all ages may learn how to cope with anxiety and improve communication in their relationships. Her articles separate fact from fiction to allay fears and educate the public about wellness practices to protect themselves and loved ones from the flu, sinusitis, back pain, COVID-19, and more. As a Reiki practitioner she teaches self-healing, as we all have that power. As a functional medicine provider (over 30 years), she embraces a SYSTEMS – based rather than ‘symptoms – based’ approach to wellness. Eastern and western wisdom are blended to individualize treatments & recommendations for each patient. To view a short video, click below.

At this time, Carol-Lee feels she is learning many new technical and communication skills as she and her loved ones cope with the stresses and strains caused by the Pandemic. She looks forward to the opportunity for a community dialogue on how we are being impacted as well as how we handle the many challenges we encounter at this time.

Gabrielle Semel, ERYT 500, AHC: As Founder of Pawling Yoga & Wellness, Gabrielle is committed to the lifestyle of Yoga and Ayurveda, and has been sharing practices supported by these healing sciences for 13 years. Her approach begins with the intention to connect with each individual, to hold the space for healing, and offer guidance that honors and embraces where one is on his/her own path.

A graduate of Rutgers University with a BS in Exercise Physiology, Gabrielle moved on to yoga to broaden her understanding of movement and the body-mind complex. Her training began with Amy Pearce-Hayden for 200-Hour Teacher Training certification at The RajaHatha School of Yoga in 2006, and four years later traveled the path of the 500-Hour Teacher Training with certification in 2011. Inspired by her students, and with a commitment to learning and devotion to service Gabrielle continues to dive deeper in search of a broader understanding of the healing process. She currently has the privilege of studying Ayurvedic Medicine with Dr. Somesh Kaushik at his Ayurvedic and Naturopathic Clinic in Cross River, NY.
