The Great Give Back

The Pawling Library is partnering with our friends at the Pawling Resource Center for The Great Give Back, a day in which libraries offer our patrons the opportunity to help people in their community. The Resource Center is looking for at least 8 people to help them assemble Thanksgiving Sunshine Gift Baskets on Saturday, October 19, from 10:00 am-12:00 pm. These baskets are very important to the recipients, some of whom are recovering in hospitals and nursing homes. You can also help out by donating food and toiletries that can be used to fill the gift baskets.

The items needed are small-sized containers of the following: Cookies, crackers, hard candies, mints, teas, fruit cups, jams, hand lotion, hand soaps, tissues, emery boards, nail clippers, sachets… and anything else you think might be a nice addition! Donations can be dropped off at the Resource Center up until Saturday, October 19.

You can help out in another way. We’ll be making Sunshine Cards on Wednesday, October 9, from 6:30-8:00 pm, not just for people  receiving Thanksgiving Sunshine Gift Baskets but for all the people who depend on the Pawling Resource Center.

We thank you so very much for volunteering your time and lighting up the lives of people in need.

NOTE: The card-making program will take place at the Pawling Library & the assembling of gift baskets will be held at the Resource Center.
