You Can Learn English: DCC-ESOL-English as a Second Language
Dutchess Community College is providing quality online group English lessons. All ESOL levels, from 101 to 108, are available with classes taking place mid-morning and evenings. Students will need a computer, tablet or smartphone with Wi-Fi connection to participate. Stay safe and receive your education in the comfort of your home.
DCC’s teachers will help you to practice speaking, reading, writing and listening, while you receive individual attention. Register now and start learning.
All ESOL courses cost $25.00 for the entire semester, payable by e-check, credit or debit card. Books are not included in the course fee. All new students must take an online placement test to determine their appropriate level. To request a placement exam email us at esl@sunydutchess.edu

Read and Play At Home (3-5 years)

Our activity kits guarantee at home learning experiences that focus on Kindergarten Readiness. We’ll include everything you’ll need for a weekly pre-prepped art project, game, or experiment.
Each week’s learning activity will connect to the stories and songs in our live Read and Play Zoom story hour.
Kit pickup is weekly, Tuesday-Sunday. Pickup protocol varies, depending on COVID-19 infection rates in our region. For the most up to date information on pickup protocol, click here.

This program is held live over Zoom. Runs nine weeks, 1/26 – 3/26
This program focuses on the five keys to early literacy—singing, reading, playing, talking, and writing. Each week’s story and songs will connect to the learning activity in Read and Play at Home.

About our presenter: Robin Lester is a historian, writer and retired teacher. He has led the Hull House Oral History project in Chicago and the gathering of memories among former members of the Henry Street Settlement House in New York. He is in the process of preserving his family history in a narrative.
