REMINDER: Our first raffle in our Summer Reading Challenge will be 7/15! But have you stopped by the library to fill them out and pick up your other prizes? Want a chance to win? Kids and teens who have leveled up in the Summer Reading Challenge will need to stop by the library before 7/15 to pick up prizes and enter their raffle tickets or contact program coordinator Neena to redeem their tickets. Adult participants do not need to stop by; their tickets are automatically entered for them! For the 7/15 raffle, you could win tickets to games from awesome area teams like the Hudson Valley Renegades, New York Red Bulls, and Danbury Westerners. Got questions? Check out our Final Drafts!

This summer, a group of children ages 4-12 worked hard with a team of volunteers, their parents and caregivers, and our staff to write and illustrate their own books! Over 9 weeks, the youth worked on rough drafts, edited, and finalized their projects. They learned about character development and perspective taking, adding in details about how characters feel into their plots. Our team couldn’t be more impressed by their final products and perseverance! Thanks to sponsorship by Dutchess County and the NYS Office of Child and Family Services, each child will receive a free published copy of their book to keep. Take a look at the drafts and covers of some of our participants’ soon-to-be released books!
