Borrow more eBooks with Libby

The Mid-Hudson Library System has entered into a reciprocal lending agreement with the Upper Hudson Library System. This means that many of the eBooks and downloadable audiobooks available through their libraries can now be checked out by Pawling Library patrons. The agreement only covers content on the Overdrive/Libby platform which is not actively checked out by another user. For step by step instructions on how to access the Upper Hudson collection on the Libby app, please read https://www.pawlingfreelibrary.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Libby-RLA-instructions-1.pdf

Download Magazines With Libby

Overdrive now offers over 3,000 popular magazines available to download with no wait lists, holds, or checkout limits. Using your library card you can download the magazines from the Overdrive website (https://mhls.overdrive.com/) or view them on your mobile device using the Libby App (https://meet.libbyapp.com/). Magazine checkouts do not affect the number of eBooks you can request or check out at once in the Overdrive service. The collection of magazines ranges from the well-known (The New Yorker, The Economist, Vogue, National Geographic) to the highly specialized (Minecraft World, Interweave Crochet, Yachting World, Home Business Magazine). Magazines are even available in other languages.

If you are already an Overdrive user, there are three changes you may have noticed to the way Overdrive works at the Pawling Library. Recommend If you have searched Overdrive recently, you may have already noticed that there is now a “Recommend to Library” feature”. For titles that are not currently part of our Overdrive collection, patrons now have the option of letting us know that they would be interested in us purchasing these titles. (Please note that eBooks generally cost the library at least three times as much as print books, so we are unable to purchase all titles recommended to us. Still, we would love to know what you are interested in, and do investigate every purchase...
