How Can I Help?

Here are some ways you can help:

Collect Signatures of Support
Pawling Library volunteers must collect a minimum of 600 signatures of support to ensure that we get our budget increase vote on the ballot in November. You can help by volunteering to solicit signatures at Library events and at petition signing events that will occur around town. To volunteer in this capacity, contact the Pawling Library at 845-855-3444 or drop by the circulation desk to sign up. Those soliciting signatures must be registered voters.

Voice Your Support with Letters to the Editor
Make your future YES vote known by contributing your perspective on why it’s important to you that the campaign to increase the library’s budget succeeds. Send this to local print and online publications and online. Here are some suggestions:

The Pawling Record
Poughkeepsie Journal
The Journal News
The Pawling Daily Chronicle (online)
Harlem Valley News (online)

Support and Share Our Message on Social Media
The online community offers great reach to get our message out. Follow the Pawling Library on Facebook and Twitter and share our posts with your own comments to let your social network know that you support our efforts. This will go a long way to advancing our cause not only for a YES vote in November, but to build even greater awareness of our services throughout the community.

Sign up for our e-Newsletters To Stay Informed
In addition to our informative monthly e-newsletters, we will be sending vote-focused messages leading up to November to let the community know how our campaign is going, and to “get the vote out.” Stay informed on the library’s services and programs while keeping up to date on the campaign by signing up for our e-news at https://www.pawlingfreelibrary.org/about/newsletter-sign-up/

Help Us Paper the Town!
We will be generating materials to raise awareness for the campaign, and will occasionally distribute flyers and window posters to local businesses. To volunteer, contact the Pawling Library at 845-855-3444 or drop by the circulation desk to sign up. Your “boots on the ground” for this would be much appreciated!
