Saturday, 10/03, 2:00 – 2:45 pm – Live on Zoom Local author and leader in education, Obed Figueroa, recently released the book Marcus Learns About the Different Types of Doctors. The story takes the title character (and readers!)  through a community health center, where Marcus meets many different healthcare professionals, and learns about how they help his community. Join us for a Live Zoom with the author, who will read from the book, show off some real tools doctors use every day, and answer questions about doctors’ lives. Registration required. Live on Zoom ; Alternating Tuesdays (9/29, 10/13, 10/27, & 11/10)  4:00-5:00 pm – Phil Scratch JR is an easy coding program designed specifically for children ages 5-7 to create interactive art and games, all while learning to code. Phil will teach introductory skills. A computer or tablet with internet access is needed to access Scratch. This program alternates with Scratch coding for grades 2-4. Registration required. Under the supervision of our programming staff, kids will interact virtually in a world of their creation! Educationally, both coding skills and computer science skills are developed. Wednesday, 5/20, 10:30 – 11:00 am via Zoom Looking for an educational and social break for your toddler or preschooler? Join us as we make cloud dough–an easy sensory activity with only two ingredients–flour and oil! Families will need to get the ingredients before the program. All live programming will be held over Zoom. Caregivers must be present while setting up the connection and remain in the same room as participating children under 5 years during programming. STEAM Night: Valentine’s Day (Ages 2-5 and a caregiver)

Saturday, 2/8, 4:30-5:30 pm – Ms. Neena Hearts, hearts, everywhere! Join us for math, science, and silly fun as we explore topics like sorting, number matching, and carbonation. Our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) Nights use high interest topics to engage kids in the early skills they will need to succeed and in STEM fields and to foster a lifelong love of learning across disciplines. During the program, our library is closed to the general public so children can be as loud and messy as they visit various stations set up throughout the space.
