3D Printing (Grades 3-4)

Friday, 2/22 and 3/8, 6:00-7:00 pm – with Kate, Main Library Please enter through the side door. In this two-session program, learn how to create 3D objects using TinkerCad. The objects created in the first session will be printed in time for the second session, so that participants can see how their designs worked, make changes or fixes to the models, or create a new one. These second session models will also be printed and available to be picked up at the library within two weeks. Interested in joining? Wednesdays, 10:00 am -12:00 pm, Main Library, Courtyard, and Annex – Ms. Carla Celebrity Readers and those notorious 3-5 graders who love to shine! Our Core Literacy Programs are designed to promote reading and a love for learning. Each week, students will have the chance to take part in stories, games,art, and projects based on our summer theme “Libraries Rock!” Each session includes time for a quick snack break, so families who are able should send a small snack and water bottle each week.   Interested in joining? Rookie Readers II (pre-readers and grades 3-5)

Tuesdays, Main Library – Ms. Carla Session II: 2:45 – 3:15 pm Session I: 2:00 – 2:30 pm   Rookie Readers is a one-to-one literacy builder designed for students who are proficient, independent readers entering grades 3 – 5. It pairs each reader with a child listener, ages 4-6.   Readers are responsible for reading to their partner and talking about great stories! The program is meant to increase student fluency, reading with expression, and reading confidence.   They also provide great role models for our young listeners, whose literacy skills are boosted too! These partnerships increase prereaders’ interest in reading and encourage positive communication and comprehension.   Slots may be limited by the number of partners interested in participating in the program.   Interested in joining?
