This event will feature a wide variety of building blocks and materials, challenging kids to think like an engineer. What’s Up, King Tut? The Myths, Treasures and Archaeology of King Tut-Ankh-Amun

Youth ages 6-14 join expert Marisa Horowitz-Jaffe in virtual, interactive exploration of King Tut’s tomb and life. Caregivers welcome! Step into a time when papyrus grew along the Nile River and pyramids dotted the horizon in Ancient Egypt with this illustrated and engaging presentation. Our program focuses on the boy king, Pharaoh Tut-Ankh-Amun. Why is he so famous and do the curses really exist? We take a virtual tour of his tomb, and learn how it was discovered 100 years ago! Presenter Marisa Horowitz-Jaffe has been studying and teaching ancient history for over 25 years. She enjoyed a two-decade career in elite NYC art museums before founding “Museums With Marisa.” She holds double bachelor’s degrees in Egyptology & Classical Archeology from the University of Michigan, and a Master’s degree from Harvard University in Art & Museum Education. Participants will personalize various coloring pages to use with our favorite Augmented Reality app, Quiver. Learn about AR technology through direct experience. Augmented Reality Art Kit (Grades K-5)

Age range: Grades Kindergarten – 5th Kits available the week of 3/18 This program brings your artwork to life with augmented reality (AR), an interactive virtual experience. This kit will include various coloring pages to use with our favorite augmented reality app, Quiver. Families will need a smart device with a camera (iPad, smartphone, etc.) and access to the internet to use Quiver from home. This program is available as both a take-home kit and a small group, masked in-person event. Please pick only one option when registering. Registration is required. Participants will be required to pick up their activity kit from the library once the order is ready; staff will notify participants when orders are ready. Register here.
