On Friday mornings, kids rule the library! Join Ms. Neena, while the library is still closed, for an uninhibited, fun and loud story time. This program incorporates sensory, art, storytelling, music, and movement all in one to prepare children to read, write, and think critically. Topics vary by week, and the program ends with activity stations. Parents and caregivers required to remain in the library for the duration of the program.

To accommodate more families, this program will be offered twice each Friday. Session two runs 10:45-11:45. Please carefully attend to the time you are registered for.

    Teachers say that the skills that lead to the most student success in school are their social and emotional skills. Join us to help develop these skills, all while children play! This supervised hour of fun provides a large space for children to meet and play, either inside or out, depending on the weather. Bring a favorite toy or game and invite a friend!

    This program starts in the main library and ends in the library annex.

    We love stories! Each week, we will dive into gorgeous picture books and have fun making connections to what we read. Program includes art or sensory activity, songs, and more. All activities designed to help foster a love of reading and prepare children for kindergarten.

    Caregivers must remain in the library with children who are not fully potty trained.

    Thursdays, 10:00-10:45 am- Ms. Neena

    Does your baby love to bounce and play? Join Ms. Neena for a story, singing, and rhyming sure to get baby giggling. All activities are designed to enhance attention and focus, familiarize children with the fundamentals of reading and talking, and instill a love of reading. The program ends with a 10-15 minute social play session or baby-safe art activity.

    Alternating Thursdays (1/30, 2/13, 2/27, 3/12) 4:00-5:00 pm – Ms. Neena

    What do scavenger hunts, petri dishes, and jumping jacks all have in common? They can all teach us something about the human body! Participants will help gather and observe germ specimens from around our library, learn how to measure their heart rate, and more!

    Caregivers are welcome, but not required. Registration is required.

    Friday, 1/31, 5:30-6:30 pm

    Rumors of another plot to make off with library valuables have surfaced! The Pawling Library is putting out a call to all junior sleuths in the area to help thwart this band of thieves! Join us for a library wide game that pits thieves against sleuths in a combination of simple game themes such as red light, green light and battleship to see which team wins. Previous participants will get to switch roles.
