The libraries of Dutchess and Putnam counties are joining together for a open mic talent night for tweens & teens. To be held at the Patterson Library, outdoors, weather-permitting. All talents are welcome: sing, dance, play music, gymnastics, magic, etc. Ages 6 through 12 years should arrive at 5 pm. Ages 13 through 21 years should arrive at 6 pm. Please register through the Patterson Library using the link or call 845-878-6121 x10.

    Our Kindergarten readiness class uses a play-based curriculum to encourage learning connections. Our small group will focus on early literacy and math skills through a combination of hands-on activities and group story time. This is an six week series. The program or portions thereof may be held outside in our courtyard to utilize our outdoor play equipment as weather allows but fully move indoors if conditions are poor. Please dress for the weather, with sunscreen and bring water.

    Teachers say that the skills that lead to the most student success in school are their social and emotional skills. Join us to help develop these skills, as well as STEM, art, and literacy practice, all while children play! This supervised hour of fun provides a large space for children to meet and play with our outdoor play equipment, weather permitting. Please dress children for the weather and bring water. This program is designed to ease the transition to daycare, preschool, and especially kindergarten and is paid for in part by Dutchess County.
