The Kidney, Liver, and Lymph: Essential Detox Pathways / Online Program

View Calendar
Jun/Tue/2021 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Presented by Dr. Somesh N. Kaushik, ND, BAMS, MPH, MPA, E-RYT 500

The kidneys, liver, and lymph system are the body’s natural detoxification pathways and are critical organs for maintaining the body’s overall health.  When they are out of balance, overloaded with toxins, or blocked by stressors (physical or emotional) they cannot function efficiently and illness can result. Learning how to care for these critical organs is essential and discovering what interferes with their functioning is key.

Come and discover:

  • Foods, herbs, teas, supplements that will help to keep these organs healthy
  • Specific triggers that cause interference – i.e. anger overloads the liver
  • Why hydration is critical – and how to determine the right amount for you
  • The importance of sleep as a regenerative component
  • Exercises and meditations that reduce stress and help circulation
  • The benefit of a periodic detox protocol

Each month, in a respectful and open environment, we’ll explore a new topic led by a different community leader.

Our wellness as individuals and as a community depends on continued sharing, support and conversation in times of celebration as well as in times of conflict.

Come Together and join us in fostering deeper conversations, listening to disparate experiences and points of view in the realm of challenging context such as racism, sexism, bipartisanship, whiteness and social justice.

We understand that these conversations could be difficult to have, and believe that by coming together to find the willingness to listen and learn, we can aspire to create a stronger Pawling, where ALL community members feel safe, welcome and represented.

This program is being provided through a partnership with the Pawling Library and Pawling Yoga & Wellness. https://pawlingyogawellness.org
