Join us each week to explore a different “tech” or STEAM experience. This program runs once a week from October 4th to November 15th. Registration is required. This program is for rising 5th graders and up.

    10/3/2022 You'll ace your college essay with the tips and strategies shared by instructor Kasey Stecher. During this in-person workshop, you'll have the opportunity to begin writing your college essay using the methods she suggests. Participants can bring an essay that is already started or they are welcome to begin during the workshop.

    This workshop is for high school students who are preparing their college applications. Registration is required.

    There will be a follow-up session for those who are interested.

    Formerly known as "Project Do Something", this is a year-round volunteer opportunity for ages 11 & up. The group will meet twice a month to plan or work on service projects to benefit the Library and the Pawling community.

    Meeting dates: The first and third Wednesday of each month at 5 pm to 6:30 pm. There may be additional dates depending on the project.

    The Pawling Library is now a Volunteer Certification Organization through the Points of Light Organization. Volunteers who meet the required annual hours for their age group will be recognized with a letter from the President of the United States and possibly other awards.     For those who love to craft, do art, and make things. We'll explore a variety of mediums and  themes during this monthly program for grade 5 and up. Meeting dates: 10/12, 11/9, 12/14.

    10/14/2022 Join us for a ghoulishly good time at this Halloween party for grades 5 & up. Battle zombies with our Nerf blasters, test your bravery with the creepy touch & feel box, and more spooky fun! To be held in the courtyard and Annex, weather permitting. Registration required.

    10/17/2022  The Pawling Library is partnering with Pawling Recreation for this hands-on workshop about invasive plant species and their removal. Ryan Goolic McClean, Terrestrial Invasive Species Project Manager of the New York/New Jersey Trail Conference, will instruct participants on the identification of various non-native plant species found at Lakeside Park and will lead the group in the proper removal of the plants.

    This program is made possible through a grant from the Mid-Hudson Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club. The workshop is open to children and teens, 3rd grade & up, and will include participants from the Pawling Recreation After School program. Participants can receive community service credit for this program.

    Registration is requested. Rain Date: Friday, 10/21. To be held at Lakeside Park.

    10/21/2022 Dungeons & Dragons returns to the Pawling Library with the start of a new game. This role-playing adventure will be led by Dungeon Master Ted Bushman and is open to tweens & teens in 5th grade and up. Registration is required.

    Ted Bushman is a fantasy/science fiction author, actor, and writer of musicals, and has more than a decade's experience in interactive storytelling. His games are about wonder, imagination, and character. He loves empowering players to roleplay and tell the stories that excite them.

    Ages: 8-12 years

    Create a herd of black cats at this craft party for ages 8 through 12 years. Using a variety of paper-based materials, we'll make a bunch of spooky kitties.

    This program is available as both a take-home activity kit and an in-person event. Please select the ticket type for your preferred way of participating.

    IN-Person: In Person: Saturday, 10/22, 3:00 - 4:00 PM – Annex

    Caregivers welcome, though not required. Please stay home if you or participating children are sick.

    Kit: Available in mid-October. Kits will need to be picked up from the Pawling Library. Our staff will email you when the kit is available.
