Series of 6 kits, weekly. 7/15 - 8/19

This program is a series of 6 take home kits; pre-prepped learning activities for children entering grades Kindergarten - 5th grade in Fall 2022 to do at home with a caregiver. To participate, a caregiver must pick each kit up from the library once they are available. Families can register for all the weeks or individual weeks. Take science learning to a new level with these kits made by expert science teachers at Steve Spangler Science! Each week, pick up a new kit including everything you need to turn your home into a science lab. Some experiments may be messy. Caregiver oversight is recommended.

    Design a puppet production from start to finish. Kids will design their own puppet theater and puppets to tell a story their own way.

    On Friday mornings, toddlers rule the library! This six week program includes songs, stories, and games plus a play-based learning stations, like art or parachute play. The program or portions thereof may be held outside in our courtyard to utilize our outdoor play equipment as weather allows but fully move indoors if conditions are poor. Please dress for the weather, with sunscreen and bring water.

    Come tinker, thinker, explore, and build at the library with Ms. Neena and Ms. Carla. This event will feature a wide variety of building blocks and materials, challenging kids to think like an engineer. Portions of this program may be held outside as weather allows or indoors if conditions are poor.

    Early literacy is an important part of a baby’s healthy development. We read, sing, babble, and bounce together. Learn resources to use at home and meet other caregivers. Ends with social play. This program will be held outside in our courtyard as weather permits.

    Our Kindergarten readiness class uses a play-based curriculum to encourage learning connections. Our small group will focus on early literacy and math skills through a combination of hands-on activities and group story time. This is an six week series.     Wednesdays, 4:30 – 5:30 PM by 15 minute appointment – Charles Colman Gazebo

    This program is held offsite at the Gazebo on Charles Colman Avenue. 

    Meet our pal Jackie and her pooch, Harper the reading dog! This program provides a fun, relaxed space for kids to practice reading skills and get some puppy love at the same time. Harper and Jackie are Hudson Valley Paws for a Cause trained providers, ready to provide low-stress reading practice support. This program is a great fit for kids who love to read and those who don’t, as well as kids who just want a puppy cuddle.

    At this biweekly gaming session, gamers gather to play Minecraft, Roblox, and other games with friends! Library provided laptops and other gaming equipment will be available for students to use, but participants are welcome to bring their own gaming devices as well.
