Children in grades K-5 will learn about constellations, their stories, and more, all while inside the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum’s travelling planetarium.     Local author and leader in education, Obed Figueroa, recently released the book Marcus Learns About the Different Types of Doctors. The story takes the title character (and readers!)  through a community health center, where Marcus meets many different healthcare professionals, and learns about how they help his community. Join us for a Live Zoom with the author, who will read from the book, show off some real tools doctors use every day, and answer questions about doctors’ lives.

    All levels welcome. Phil will teach introductory skills in Scratch, an online coding education platform created by experts at MIT. A computer or tablet with internet access is needed to access Scratch.

    This program welcomes homeschoolers grades K-4. This program promotes collaboration through virtual activities. Topics rotate; upcoming topics include leadership and elections, pirate codes, and more.

    At this time, we can ONLY accommodate home schooling children—this does not include children enrolled in remote learning through a school district. Remote learners are instead welcome in all our other virtual and kit programming for school age children.

    This program alternates with Scratch coding for grades 2-4.
