The spring session for Pawling Library children's programs will begin April 9th, 2018! Our schedule of free programs serves children from birth to grade four. Join in the fun--lottery registration for placement will run online, via email, and in person from March 28-April 3, with placement notifications going out April 4-6. Rolling registration as space is available starting April 4.

The spring session will run for eight weeks, from April 9- June 1. Check back at http://www.pawlingfreelibrary.org/ for program information and registration forms starting March 28.

    Tuesday, December 6, 4:15 - 5:15 PM

    Learn about how plastic is made and its uses in everyday life as we conduct our own science experiment, creating "string slime" with Steve Spangler Science's fun activity kit. Kids should wear clothes that can get messy for this special one-time event. Smocks will be provided.

    Our annual gingerbread house take-home kit with Sunflour Bakery is the perfect at-home activity for the whole family. Register for
    the lottery for a chance to receive a kit for your family.

    Click here to register for the lottery for a chance at a spot in this program. The lottery is open from November 10-November 30. All lottery registrants will be notified about whether they secured a spot in the program and a kit or were placed on the program waiting list on December 1, 2022. If you are unable to pick up a kit during library hours between December 8-11, please do not sign up for this lottery program.

    Allergen information: The frosting, cookies, and candy may contain gluten, eggs, and dairy. The kits are nut free, but some candy may be made in a nut environment.

    Lottery details: The lottery is open from November 10-November 30. All lottery registrants will be notified about whether they secured a spot in the program and a kit or were placed on the program waiting list on December 1, 2022. Those who are enrolled by the lottery will be asked to pick up a take-home kit from the library between December 8-11. Families placed on the wait list will be notified of their wait list placement and if a kit becomes available for pick up. If you are unable to pick up a kit during library hours between December 8-11, please do not sign up for this lottery program. Families participating in our in-person gingerbread house events are not eligible for the lottery. Due to program popularity, only one lottery entry/gingerbread house kit per family.

    Families who homeschool with children in grades K-4

    Select Thursdays (9/29, 10/27, 11/17, 12/15) 1:00-2:00 PM – Library Annex

    This program welcomes homeschoolers to get together and socialize while we play games and complete group projects. Over the course of this fall's three meetings, we will collaborate to imagine and illustrate a story that the library will publish! Each participant will be responsible for helping contribute story elements and drawing the illustrations for their edition of the book.

    Can't make all three sessions? You may still be able to participate. Contact Children's Program Coordinator Neena McBaer to find out more about book requirements.

    Registration for this program is full. Please check back in January when we announce our next cycle of programs.

    The library and Sunflour Bakery have partnered to help kids create (and taste!) their own gingerbread houses that don't just look great, but taste great too! Join Miss Maureen for one of two sessions of this small group program, where kids will get to build their own gingerbread house using pre-packaged materials just for them.

    REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Click here to register. 

    Note: Children under 5 years old or those who need additional support with fine/gross motor activities are required to have a caregiver remain with them for this program. Parents and caregivers of children over 5 years old are also invited to stay and participate in this activity with their children, though this is not required.

    Due to demand, those participating in this in-person program will not be permitted to enter the lottery for a gingerbread house take-home kit.
