2nd - 4th Grade and a caregiver
This is an adult-child discussion group in which adults and their older children share the experience of reading together. Prior to the book club meeting, read the selected book out loud together or read independently. Adults are encouraged to discuss the book with their child and share ideas and insight prior to the event. Reading and discussing books with a parent or guardian encourages a deeper understanding of the themes and content, as adults can provide historical and cultural perspectives.
At the Second Saturday event, attendees will participate in discussion questions, enjoy snacks, and do related activities. Books will range from classic children’s fiction to new popular books.
Upcoming books:
2/10 Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins
3/10 Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine
All books may be ordered through the library system.
