Rookie Readers is a one-to-one literacy builder designed for students who are proficient, independent readers entering grades 3 - 5. It pairs each reader with a child listener, ages 4-6.

Readers are responsible for reading to their partner and talking about great stories! The program is meant to increase student fluency, reading with expression, and reading confidence.

They also provide great role models for our young listeners, whose literacy skills are boosted too! These partnerships increase prereaders' interest in reading and encourage positive communication and comprehension.

Slots may be limited by the number of partners interested in participating in the program.
