What do you get when you combine literacy and STEAM programming? Lots and lots of learning! This program uses rotating weekly science topics to engage young children’s interest in materials and sensory experiences that help them learn not only science but also to read and write. Selected topics include but not limited to magnets, counting with addition and subtraction, and dinosaurs.

    Bring the whole family to play card and board games in the library. The library will provide a
    selection of games, but you can also bring any games you might want to play. This is not a drop off program – parents/guardians should stay and play!

    Does your baby love to bounce and play? Join Ms. Neena for a story, singing, and rhyming sure to get baby giggling. All activities are designed to enhance attention and focus, familiarize children with the fundamentals of reading and talking, and instill a love of reading. The program ends with a 10-15 minute social play session or baby-safe art activity.

    On Friday mornings, kids rule the library! Join Ms. Neena, while the library is still closed, for an uninhibited, fun and loud story time. This program incorporates sensory, art, storytelling, music, and movement all in one to prepare children to read, write, and think critically. Topics vary by week, and the program ends with activity stations. Parents and caregivers required to remain in the library for the duration of the program.

    Friday, 1/25, 6:00-8:00 pm -- with Kate

    Bring your whole family to cozy up and watch a family friendly movie at the library. Popcorn and water provided. Families are welcome to bring blankets, stuffed animals, and other snacks. Please, no peanuts or peanut butter. A caregiver is required to remain for the entirety of the program.

    BFG, rated PG, is based on the Roald Dahl book of the same name. BFG, or the Big Friendly Giant, first kidnaps, but later befriends Sophie, a young girl who is looking for her place in the world. Parents should note that this movie features some scary scenes, blunt discussions of death, and may not be appropriate for children who scare easily or are under 7 years old. Run time: 1 hour, 55 minutes.

    Teachers say that the skills that lead to the most student success in school are their social and emotional skills. Join us to help develop these skills, all while children play! This supervised hour of fun provides a large space for children to meet and play in the winter cold. Bring a favorite toy or game and invite a friend!
