Make Me an Author (in-person class)
(Grades K-5)
Thursdays, 2:00 - 3:00 PM – Library Annex
This summer, kids and families have the opportunity to write, illustrate, and publish a real book! Kids will receive writing support from our staff and volunteers as they craft a story of their own. Then, using drawings, photos, or other art, kids will illustrate their work. In order to be published by the library, the story will need to address one of the following themes: anti-bullying, overcoming challenges, or coping with big feelings. Each participant will receive a bound version of their book to keep. Partially funded by the Dutchess County Office of Children and Family Services.
Registration required. Register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/368577042857
*Please commit to attending at least 4 of the 6 weeks of this 6 week program in order to claim a spot in the class.*
Can't commit to attending in-person regularly? This program is also available as a take-home kit, where families work on their draft together at home before returning their story to the library for publication. When registering, please indicate how you would prefer to participate. Participation is limited to either in-person or take home.
