Dog Tales * (Grades 1+)
Biweekly Wednesdays (7/7, 7/21, 8/4, & 8/18) by 15 minute appointment – OUTDOOR
We’ve got a new furry friend at the library! Harper is a certified therapy dog that loves to hear stories and is trained to work with children. Developing readers are invited to sign up for 15 minute sessions to practice their reading aloud, all while making a new animal friend. Register here.

Want to give your child an experience they'll never forget? Become friends with a real princess or hero as they read, sing, tell engaging stories, and play games together -- Plus, she will respond to your child's live comments by name! This is the fifth in a series of eight programs. Mindfulness Arts and Crafts
Age range: Grades Kindergarten - 5th
Supply kits provided - staff will email you when the kit is ready for pick up, at which point you can pick up anytime we are open.
This is a six-week program. Please ONLY register for weeks you are available to pick up kits, as spaces are limited.
These activities center on sensory experience and directing focus through mindful creation and play. Some activities may be messy. Register here.
Book Buddies (Grades 1+)
Mondays, 2:30 – 3:00 PM – Zoom
Kids work one-on-one with a teen mentor on developing reading skills. Teens will provide support when kids struggle and read or chat with them when they need a break. This is a six-week program. You must commit to 4 out of 6 weeks to join. Kids and families, register here.
Got a tween/teen at home who is a strong reader? Youth 11 and older can volunteer as mentors in our Book Buddy program and earn community service hours! For more information, click here.
Huge Hungry Hippos! S.T.E.A.M.
Age range: Grades Kindergarten -5th
Monday, 7/12, 4:00 – 5:00 PM –OUTDOOR
Have you played the popular board game “Hungry Hungry Hippos?” This program challenges kids to work together to design and build a hippo for our own life-size version of the game! This activity will be held outside as weather allows but move indoors if needed. Register here.

Baby Bounce and Groove
Age range: Birth – 18 months and a caregiver
Tuesdays, 10:00 – 10:30 am – MIXED LOCATION
Join us for stories, rhymes, and baby movement. We’ll focus on the keys for early literacy—singing, reading, talking, playing, and pre-writing. This six-week program will be held outside in our courtyard as weather allows but move indoors if conditions are poor. Register here.

Sport S.T.E.A.M (Grades K-5)
This program is available as an in-person class or as a take-home kit for families to do together at home. Please select only one option when registering.
In-Person: Tuesdays, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm – INDOOR
Take Home Kit: Available weekly for pickup on your schedule. Staff will notify you via email when a new kit is available.

Read and Play (3-5 years)
Wednesdays, 1:30-2:30 PM – MIXED LOCATION
Our Kindergarten readiness class uses a play-based curriculum to encourage learning connections. Our small group will focus on early literacy and math skills through a combination of hands-on activities and group storytime. This program will be held in the library courtyard when weather allows, but move indoors as needed. Caregivers required to remain on site for the program. Runs six weeks. Register here.

Roblox Club
Age range: Grades 2-5
Biweekly on Wednesdays (7/14, 7/28, & 8/11) 1:00-2:00 PM – Zoom
Explore and share your favorite Roblox games with other Roblox fans! This social club invites kids to collaborate in the virtual world. A Roblox account (set up with a caregiver) is required to participate. Register here.

The 12 Principles of Animation, introduced by Disney animators in the book Illusion of Life are the secrets to making animation compelling and alive. Chris Siemasko, an animator for Pixar Animation Studios, will introduce children to the first three lessons all animators learn.
Join a group of your peers to discuss actively common interests weekly. Post on the Library teens’ Discord thoughts and opinions passively on graphic novels, books, and podcasts.

The 1920s ushered in the modern era in the world of poetry, and its influences are still going strong, 100 years later.
At this workshop, we will listen to and examine the poetry of T.S. Eliot, Robert Frost, Marianne Moore and Langston Hughes. You will then be invited to read a poem of your own – and see how the grand shift in style of the earlier time still echoes in our work today.
About our presenter: Marian Grudko is the author of Lucinda Snowdrop and co-author of Claudine: A Fairy Tale for Exceptional Grownups, with T.A. Young. She is also a composer and storyteller, and her work can be seen on her new and evolving YouTube channel and at soundcloud.com.
