Friday, November 30th, from 1:00-2:00 pm -- Library Annex

Homeschool families are invited to join us as we gather to do some good for the community. We will put together sunshine baskets to kick off the winter holiday season. These baskets, filled with necessities and small gifts will be donated to the Pawling Resource Center after the conclusion of the event. Though there is no cost to participate, homeschooling families are responsible for purchasing the materials for the baskets and bringing them for use in the program. Should this be a problem for your family, but you still wish to participate, please contact Children's Programs Coordinator, Neena McBaer in advance of the program at children@pawlinglibrary.org or 845-855-3444.

    We love stories! Each week, we will dive into gorgeous picture books and have fun making connections to what we read. Program includes art or sensory activity, songs, and more. All activities designed to help foster a love of reading and prepare children for kindergarten.

    Caregivers must remain in the library with children who are not fully potty trained.

    THERE WILL BE NO CLASS ON 10/3

    Does your baby love to bounce and play? Join Ms. Neena for a story, singing, and rhyming sure to get baby giggling. All activities are designed to enhance attention and focus, familiarize children with the fundamentals of reading and talking, and instill a love of reading. The program ends with a 10-15 minute social play session or baby-safe art activity.

    Interested in cars, trains, and motorcycles? Like building vehicles? Join us as we learn about kinetic energy, gravity, and complete projects with toy cars.

    THERE WILL BE NO PROGRAM ON 11/15.

    On Friday mornings, kids rule the library! Join Ms. Neena, while the library is still closed, for an uninhibited, fun and loud story time. This program incorporates sensory, art, storytelling, music, and movement all in one to prepare children to read, write, and think critically. Topics vary by week, and the program ends with activity stations. Parents and caregivers required to remain in the library for the duration of the program.

    Explore the wide world of Japanese sweets and learn to make your own candy. Each participant will receive their own candy making kit and samples of popular candies.

    Early literacy is an important part of a baby’s healthy development. We read, sing, babble, and bounce together. Learn resources to use at home and meet other caregivers. Ends with social play.

    Tuesdays 5:15-6:15 pm – Phil

    One of the most important parts of a good story are the illustrations. Learn to create scenes that tell a story and portray characters with different attitudes and emotions using examples from our favorite books. Children will share their creations with their friends and work together to create silly stories. Developing readers and writers welcome.
