Alternating Fridays (1/24, 2/7, 2/21, 3/6) 1:00-2:00 pm – Ms. Neena

This program welcomes homeschoolers in grades K-4 to create an inclusive space for discussion and social learning.
Activities based around family’s needs are implemented, freeing caregivers up to come together and talk.

This season, the focus will be on collaboration and STEAM. We will be using materials like squishy circuits and littleBits to create both together and independently.

    Does your baby love to bounce and play? Join Ms. Neena for a story, singing, and rhyming sure to get baby giggling. All activities are designed to enhance attention and focus, familiarize children with the fundamentals of reading and talking, and instill a love of reading. The program ends with a 10-15 minute social play session or baby-safe art activity.

    Alternating Thursdays (1/23, 2/6, 2/20, 3/5, 3/19) 4:00-5:00 pm – Ms. Neena

    Inspired by the global phenomenon of toy squishies, participants will create something 3D and fun each week, including Frisbees, slow-rising squishies, and more. Each week will also incorporate a story or literacy activity as a warm up.

    Caregivers welcome, but not required. Registration is required.

    Please note that there are two sessions of this program on Fridays, the second at 10:45 am. Families may register for one. 

    On Friday mornings, kids rule the library! Join Ms. Neena, while the library is still closed, for an uninhibited, fun and loud story time. This program incorporates sensory, art, storytelling, music, and movement all in one to prepare children to read, write, and think critically. Topics vary by week, and the program ends with activity stations. Parents and caregivers required to remain in the library for the duration of the program.

    Create a cool character and come along an adventure where you control where the story goes. This is a kid friendly, simplified RPG (Role Playing Game), great for learning elements of story-telling and collaborating.

    15 minute sessions BY APPOINTMENT

    Alternating Tuesdays (1/14, 1/28, 2/11, 2/25, 3/10) 4:15-5:15 pm – Phil and Suzanne

    Registered therapy dogs Marcie and Alexander love stories, cuddles, and making new friends! Children can sign up for a 15 minute session with these pups, and read to them in a low-stress environment.
    Perfect for emerging and struggling readers!

    Teachers say that the skills that lead to the most student success in school are their social and emotional skills. Join us to help develop these skills, all while children play! This supervised hour of fun provides a large space for children to meet and play, either inside or out, depending on the weather. Bring a favorite toy or game and invite a friend!

    This program starts in the main library and ends in the library annex.

    We love stories! Each week, we will dive into gorgeous picture books and have fun making connections to what we read. Program includes art or sensory activity, songs, and more. All activities designed to help foster a love of reading and prepare children for kindergarten.

    Caregivers must remain in the library with children who are not fully potty trained.
