Ted Bushman is a fantasy/science fiction author, actor, and writer of musicals, and has more than a decade's experience in interactive storytelling. His games are about wonder, imagination, and character. He loves empowering players to role play and tell the stories that excite them.
Members of the Pawling Library's VounTeens group will be available to help senior citizens with computer-related questions and problems at this weekly drop-in session. Please bring your device and/or library card and a volunteer will work one-on-one with you. Appointments are not necessary.The help sessions will take place in the Teen Space.

The middle school Battle of the Books team will meet on alternate Mondays at 5 pm in the Library Annex. This team is open to students currently in 4 through 8th grades.
Battle of the Books is a Mid-Hudson Library System-wide program that introduces participants great books, teamwork, and friendly competition. The Regional Battle is to be held between 9/8 - 9/11. The Final Battle will be held on Saturday, 9/16.

Special for June: This program is for grades 3 through 8. For those who love to craft, do art, and make things. We'll explore a variety of mediums and themes during this monthly program. This month, we’ll be making a variety of summer-themed crafts including some Father's Day gifts. To be held in the Library Annex. Registration is required.
This program welcomes middle-school-age homeschoolers to get together and socialize while we play games, do art activities, and complete learning challenges.This season's theme is Robotics. Families are welcome to come early to socialize with each other. Meeting dates: 4/20, 5/18, and 6/15. Registration is required.
A new, 3-part season begins April 14th. This role-playing adventure will be led by Dungeon Master Ted Bushman and is open to tweens & teens in 5th grade and up. Registration is required. Please note: The April Meeting is at a special start time and location. April 14th session will be 5 pm - 7 pm and will be held in the main Library building. The May and June sessions will be at 4 pm - 6 pm in the Library Annex.

This monthly program is for families who home-school to give their elementary- and middle-school-aged students an opportunity to practice public speaking. Led by Katrina Bronnimann, each meeting will have a theme from which attendees can choice their speaking topic. The themes for the spring session:

May 25th: Animals
June 19th: Geography/Travel (Please note this session takes place on Monday)

This is a year-round volunteer opportunity for ages 11 & up. The group will meet twice a month to plan or work on service projects to benefit the Library and the Pawling community.
Meeting dates: The first and third Wednesday of each month at 5 pm to 6:30 pm. There may be additional dates depending on the project. Registration is requested. Please note, the registration link will only display the final date for the program. However, this program will run from September to June.
The Pawling Library is now a Volunteer Certification Organization through the Points of Light Organization. Volunteers who meet the required annual hours for their age group will be recognized with a letter from the President of the United States and possibly other awards. This program includes songs, stories, and games plus 20 minutes of play-based learning stations, like art, blocks, or fine motor play. While activities vary week to week, messy materials and smocks are occasionally used. We may play outdoors if weather allows.
