Each month, in a respectful and open environment, we’ll explore a new topic led by a different community leader.

At the start of the program, we’ll be watching a 18-minute TED TALKS video, entitled My Stroke of Insight with Jill Bolte Taylor.

Following the viewing, we’ll open up a group discussion led by Melanie Hopwood.

Our wellness as individuals and as a community depends on continued sharing, support and conversation in times of celebration as well as in times of conflict.

Come Together and join us in fostering deeper conversations, listening to disparate experiences and points of view in the realm of challenging context such as racism, sexism, bipartisanship, whiteness and social justice.

We understand that these conversations could be difficult to have, and believe that by coming together to find the willingness to listen and learn, we can aspire to create a stronger Pawling, where ALL community members feel safe, welcome and represented.

This program is being provided through a partnership with the Pawling Library and Pawling Yoga & Wellness.

About our presenter: Melanie Hopwood is a Transformative Life Coach and founder of The Restorative Coach LLC.

Melanie worked in the insurance industry for 20 years and became a professional certified coach in 2020. She is deeply invested in understanding the human experience, both for her own personal growth and to better support her clients in bringing to fruition their deepest desires. Ultimately what most people want is to feel more secure within themselves. They want relief from all the effort and struggle it takes to be successful and happy. They are looking for meaning and purpose in their lives, beyond the superficiality of consumption, status, and material belongings.

Melanie is driven by a desire to help people feel a sense of relief from their insecurities. To show them there is another way, a way you can live a deeply fulfilling and enriching life. It’s not about avoiding the human experience, but understanding it so you are no longer a victim of your beliefs and perceptions, but an observer of how they influence your experience of day-to-day life. Understanding and becoming aware of your experience is the first step to self-mastery. With awareness and insight, Melanie’s clients are empowered to make different choices. To see past their psychological experience, and to connect with a deeper knowing and a foundation of well-being that is unshakable by any passing thought. Her gift is in drawing out the expertise and wisdom in her clients.

Melanie lives in Dutchess County with her husband David and their amazing dog, Pickle.
