Fall Youth Programs – Registration Now Open!

Our Fall programs are just around the corner! Registration for child and teen programs for our fall cycle, Sept. 24 – Nov. 19 starts today, Monday, 9/12! Register anytime after this date. Children’s Programs: For more information on our programs for children birth – grade 4, visit our Current Children’s Programs Page. Register online from this portal, our calendar, or by contacting Children’s Program Coordinator Neena McBaer at children@pawlinglibrary.org or 845-855-3444. Registration is preferred for all programs in the children’s department. Drop-ins will be accommodated whenever possible, though drop-in participation is not guaranteed. Teen/Tween Programs: Visit our Teen Programs page for information on this fall’s series of events for youth ages 10-18. Register from our calendar or through the teen programs page. The College Applications Timeline – What To Do & When / Online Program

In this program, Priyanka Shingala of Let’s Talk College, LLC will provide an updated overview of the process, and cover the exact steps you should take to stay on track, and even get ahead. This program is geared towards parents of all high school students, particularly 10th-12th graders. Topics include, but are not limited, to: With universities going test-optional, should you take the SAT or ACT? College Tours: What should you look for and what questions should you ask? New Nature Preserve Deer Pond Farm – hiking, birding & more / Online Program

There are over 15 miles of trails to explore on 850 acres spanning Pawling, NY and Sherman, CT. Deer Pond Farm’s director, Cathy Hagadorn, will lead this informational / educational presentation.   The winter program session begins on January 16, and you can register now for teen programs! We are offering a variety of programs, from Minecraft Monday to Blogging to DIY club. REMINDER: Our first raffle in our Summer Reading Challenge will be 7/15! If you’ve been logging your reading online or with a paper log, you’ve been earning raffle tickets to win prizes in our raffles! But have you stopped by the library to fill them out and pick up your other prizes? Want a chance to win? Kids and teens who have leveled up in the Summer Reading Challenge will need to stop by the library before 7/15 to pick up prizes and enter their raffle tickets or contact program coordinator Neena to redeem their tickets. Adult participants do not need to stop by; their tickets are automatically entered for them! Summer Kicks off On Monday, June 20!

The Pawling Library’s Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Challenge begins on Monday, June 20th! Register online and count the time you spend reading all summer! Earn badges, free books and other prizes like baseball tickets! Help us reach our community goal of 20,000 minutes and we’ll have an ice cream party to celebrate! Plus, the Library will earn a Nintendo Switch to use during Library programs! Open to kids of all ages, teens, and adults! Register here to track online or pick up a paper log from our front desk. Summer Teen Volunteers Needed

Thank you to all those who have sent in their applications to be a Summer Volunteer. We will be in touch shortly to let you know the next steps. Help Young Writers: This opportunity is to help younger children to write, make, and publish their own books. This program is funded in part through Dutchess County and OCFS. Teen Volunteer Opportunity

We are looking for a volunteers to dress as Piggie & Gerald, or to be their guide for a special program on June 11th, beginning at 10 am. Dressed as the beloved Mo Willems characters, you will encourage the children with questions and help with the planned activity.
