Inspiring Works by Women Writers (Book Club) / Online Program
Wednesday, January 19
6:30-7:30 pmRegistration is required. You can register below or by contacting Donald, our Adult Program Coordinator, at adult@pawlinglibrary.org.
The book club will be discussing The Namesake, by Jhumpa Lahiri.
Are you interested in reading and discussing novels, plays, and poems by women? Then this is your Book Club! This is a fun opportunity to indulge in some great works by women writers.
We will begin each discussion with a little background history and tidbits on each female writer. I’ll ask a few questions to get us started and then it’s an open forum. My hope is that together we gain a little more insight into these books (and perhaps the authors as well).
Some of these books you may know well. Some may be books you always meant to read and never got around to! It does not matter how expert you are with the works or the authors. If you are passionate about discussing books and would like to build up your repertoire of works by women, this might be the perfect place to start. To quote Mary Shelley: “The beginning is always today.”
