    On Friday mornings, kids rule the library! Join Ms. Neena, while the library is still closed, for an uninhibited, fun and loud story time. This program incorporates sensory, art, storytelling, music, and movement all in one to prepare children to read, write, and think critically. Topics vary by week, and the program ends with activity stations. Parents and caregivers required to remain in the library for the duration of the program.

    Homeschool Sunshine Baskets

    Friday, November 30th, from 1:00-2:00 pm — Library Annex

    Homeschool families are invited to join us as we gather to do some good for the community. We will put together sunshine baskets to kick off the winter holiday season. These baskets, filled with necessities and small gifts will be donated to the Pawling Resource Center after the conclusion of the event. Though there is no cost to participate, homeschooling families are responsible for purchasing the materials for the baskets and bringing them for use in the program. Should this be a problem for your family, but you still wish to participate, please contact Children’s Programs Coordinator, Neena McBaer in advance of the program at children@pawlinglibrary.org or 845-855-3444.

     

     

    Hanging Ornaments: Sculpting Workshop

    Ayurveda defines health as a balance of body, mind, and spirit. When imbalance occurs, illness can result. To restore balance a highly individualized regimen, based on one’s body constitution (or dosha), is followed. Diet and nutrition are central to this approach.

    *How to determine if you are out of balance
    *Steps to correct an imbalance and prevent illness
    *Why certain foods may not be right for you but OK for others
    *The importance of eating “seasonally” and which foods to avoid

    About our presenter: Robin Lester is a historian, writer and retired teacher. He has led the Hull House Oral History project in Chicago and the gathering of memories among former members of the Henry Street Settlement House in New York. He is in the process of preserving his family history in a narrative.
