Current Children’s Programs

Don’t miss our Winter special events! Between Thanksgiving and New Year’s, we run special one-time events instead of our weekly programs. Check them out below and get in touch if you wish to join!

Winter 2018 Programs (in order of date)

Homeschool Sunshine Baskets: Friday, November 30th, from 1:00-2:00 pm Homeschool families are invited to join us as we gather to do some good for the community. We will put together sunshine baskets for area senior citizens. These baskets, filled with necessities and small gifts will be donated to the Pawling Resource Center after the conclusion of the event. Though there is no cost to participate, homeschooling families are responsible for purchasing the materials for the baskets and bringing them for use in the program. Should this be a problem for your family, but you still wish to participate, please contact Children’s Programs Coordinator, Neena McBaer in advance of the program at or 845-855-3444.

Literacy at Home, Parent Support Program: Thursday, 12/13, 6:00 – 7:00 pm — Pawling Elementary School – in the library, 7 Haight Street Pawling, NY (Snow date: 12/19, 6:00 – Pawling Elementary School Library)
Parents are a child’s first educators. Research shows that literacy practices at home by families are more important to a student’s success than a family’s education or income. This workshop is designed to provide opportunities for families to come together to learn ways they can continue helping their child with literacy practices at home. Lead by teachers Mrs. Boutros and Inginia Del Rosario. This program will be lead primarily in Spanish, though English speakers will also be accommodated. Snacks and childcare will be provided. This program is most relevant for parents and caregivers of children in Elementary school and parents and caregivers who are not fluent in English but want to provide their children with literacy support.
