Sleep & Stress Management Workshop

Taste of India

Presented by Preetha Natesan Tuesday, December 10 7:00-8:00 pm Please join us for this hands-on interactive session on learning to cook Indian delicacies through an easy and a non-intimidating approach. During the workshop participants will observe and learn to cook two popular Indian dishes – one from North India and one from South India. The audience will be able to see and appreciate the different spices used within the region. At the end of the session, they will be able to taste a small sample of the dish. FREE English (ESOL) Tutoring

English for Speakers of Other Languages with Karina Cerna Thursday, December 12 1:00-4:00 pm Tutoring is available for both adults and teens. Sessions are for one hour. Registration is required. Holiday Book Sale

The Pawling Library’s annual Holiday Book Sale will be December 6th through 8th. The library annex will be full of books of every variety, perfect to buy for yourself or a loved one this holiday season. All proceeds will go toward library programs and events. On Saturday December 7th, Santa and Mrs. Claus will even come by the library and there will be live Christmas music. The hours for the book sale are as follows: Friday 12/6: 5:00 – 8:30 Saturday 12/7: 10:00 – 4:00 Sunday 12/8: 11:00 – 2:00 If you are interested in volunteering to help set up for the book sale on Thursday or clean up afterwards on Sunday, please call the library at 845-855-3444. We are always very grateful for any assistance we can get.

Thankgiving Week Hours

If you are not going over the river and through the woods this Thanksgiving, you might be interested in knowing when the Pawling Library will be open.  We will be reducing our schedule during Thanksgiving week, so that staff and volunteers are able to spend time with their loved ones. We will close at 3 PM on Wednesday and then re-open at noon on Friday. Day by day, that means our hours are as follows: Monday: 12-5 Tuesday: 10-8 Wednesday: 10-3 Thursday: Closed Friday: 12-5 Saturday: 10-4

Yin Yoga & Meditation with Maria Polhemus

Soap Making with Essential Oils

The Abominable Snow Monster: A Sculpting Workshop

Two Sessions: Friday, November 15 (Sculpting) & Friday, November 22 (Painting) Time: 6:30-8:30 pm He roars, he snarls, he growls…and smiles, too. This is what an arctic monster does, also known as a Bumble. At this free program we’ll be sculpting & painting our own version of this famous kindhearted giant. And don’t forget, Bumbles bounce! Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Age: 7 & up. Registration is required.
