Volunteer Interns and Leadership Interns

Applications now open for tweens and teens 11-18 to volunteer with our children’s programming this summer. We’ve added new ways to help, aimed at making teen involvement more impactful and fun. Former volunteers 15-18 are invited to apply for part-time employment as a Leadership intern. Applications for volunteers due on or before June 16th; Leadership Intern applications due by June 12th. Memorial Day Weekend

The library will be closed Sunday May 26th and Monday May 27th in observance of Memorial Day. After the library closes at 4 PM on Saturday, it will not reopen until Tuesday morning at 10 AM. Graphic Novel Book Club

Tuesday, May 28 7:00-8:00 pm The book club will be discussing Through the Woods, by Emily Carroll. The Graphic Novel Book Club is an adult book club that meets monthly to discuss comics and graphic novels. We will select from a wide variety of titles – indie and foreign comics to classic superhero storylines. Whether you are just getting into comics or a life-long reader, you’ll find good conversation and something new to read. Registration is required. Patriot Hero of the Hudson Valley

Tuesday, May 21 7:00-8:00 pm Author Vincent Dacquino will be reading from his latest book Patriot Hero of the Hudson Valley. Following his discussion, Mr. Dacquino will be autographing copies of his book. For those wishing to have an autographed copy, books must be purchased in advance. The Great Pawling Library Book Sale Offers Many Surprises

Every spring the Pawling Library hosts its annual book sale. This year, the sale will take place at the newly renovated Lathrop Center located at 2 Lakeside Drive on Saturday June 1st from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday, June 2nd, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and the following weekend on Saturday June 8th, from 9-4 and Sunday June 9the from 10-3. Aside from the amazing array (over 25,000 volumes) of books for sale in every category imaginable, both in hardcover and paperback, this year’s sale will definitely surprise and delight everyone who attends.
